Bliss Inc.

This story is about a full-figured wedding divorced wedding planner who ends up a bar after going on a bad blind date that her best friend set up. She notices a great looking guy sitting down from her and there is a instant attraction. She has her first one night stand with him and they don't exchange names because even though it was the best night of her life, she doesn't expect to see him again. Fate intervenes and she ends up being the wedding planner for his brother's wedding. Then the drama begins because not only is he younger, he is white and from a very wealthy family. I won't give away the storyline so you will have to read it to find out about all the drama that takes place with this couple.

Disappointed

This book was a disappointment. Being a plus sized woman, I was excited to read a story where the big girl gets the man but it seriously was lacking in "story". The telling of day to day activities does not make a good story. I was completely annoyed by the number of times the author explained something, then in the character's voice we had to hear the same thing. There were several other conversations that seemed pointless to me.
I just didn't get it. There was no real arch in the story. It seemed to me, the author realized that there was nothing being told so she filled it with a bunch of idle conversation. I don't actually have to read the conversation when introductions are being made. You can simply say, "She introduced everyone" (or something, jeez!)
To say I was disappointed really is an understatement. The story had such potential. There could have been several issues but instead, the ONLY issue between the couple was whether or not they wanted children (which neither did but they refused to talk about it). Plus did i have to be reminded that she was full figured every chapter. Or when she met someone she had to repeat it several times as well.
Reading this, its very hard to believe that its her 2nd book and that her 1st was received so well.
I gave this 2 stars b/c at least she tried to write about BBW!!

I wanted to like this book but.....

I was very disappointed with Bliss Inc. The story had so much potential that was just wasted. I like the ideal that the herione Paige was beautiful and successful black woman that happened to be a plus size. However, I felt like I was reading a story that could have been and should have been summed up in a hundred pages but was scretched over to cover 400 plus pages. And I really didn't want to read about every single painful detail of planning a wedding. The characters had lots and lots of pointless conversation usually about how "beautiful and brilliant Paige is because she solved yet another manufactured incident that highligts just how "beautiful and brilliant" Paige is. All the characters are very one demensional. The love scenes are very boring. The author uses phrases like she shared her secert place with him and then he shared his secret place with her. A love scene doesn't have to be explicit but I would like to read some kind of emotion (tenderness and/ or passion) between the h/h.
