Love the book as a supplement for class, however I would not buy this to study for NCLEX

I bought this book as a supplement for my learning in class. I found that it works very well in summarizing and understanding the key points of each topic. I have been using it for a few days now, and it pretty much sums up the chapters.
I would personally not use this book to study for the nclex because I do not feel that it goes in depth enough to study for that purpose however it offers a good overview on what you need to know for class, and then allows you to go back to your text and do more searching on more in depth studying from your text book.
I do not find that there is as much illustration in the book as I think one would hope from an "illustrated guide" so if that is what you are looking for you won't get that but I do love the book and I would buy it again in a second. FYI this book sells for $25 less here on amazon then it does in the horrid "Big Box" walk in store that you will find in your local malls. Another reason why I love amazon. College is not cheap, and buying supplemental resources for college can be even more expensive, so it is nice to know that I can find what I need here.

Excellent Study Resource

The title of the book is misleading- it is no more illustrative than any other NCLEX review book. However, I absolutely love the format and layout of this book. The book it separated into several sections that are further divided into specific chapter content. I can locate everything quickly and easily- no searching through 30 page chapters for subcategories. Every subject matter is broken down and gets it's own chapter. Once inside the chapter the layout of Condition, Assessment, Treatment and Intervention headings makes reading and retaining information so much easier. Also, I like that there is a fair amount of spacing between lines on a page. My class textbooks squished so much on one page it looked like a solid blob of words that all ran together. As for content, it follows along exactly with what my instructors are teaching. Just as they take the most important points from the textbook so does this book. Leaves more room to study what you need to know without getting bogged down with information you don't need to know right now.

Perfect Book to help me prepare for NCLEX-RN. Concise and to the point but detailed. Highly recommend this book to any nursing student interested in preparation for NCLEX-RN
I use this book to go along with my studies and it helps me comprehend the material better. The outline format makes studying and understanding so much better as well as being able to make the proper connections as a proper nurse in order to make best critical decisions as well as preparing for the terrifying nursing board exam.
