About the Author
Hae-Geon Lee received his B.E. degree from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, 1970 in Metallurgical Engineering; and Ph. D. from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA, 1983 in Materials Engineering. Professor Lee s academic career began at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia in 1988. After serving for about 10 years, he moved to POSTECH in 1997, and has served as a professor of Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Dean of Graduate Institute of Ferrous Technology, and Director of Technology Innovation for Metals and Materials. He is currently a professor of Graduate Institute of Ferrous Technology where he leads Clean Steel Technology. Professor Lee is currently devoting himself to developing a new innovative process of steelmaking and understanding atomistic principles of interfacial reactions between ionic and non-polar immiscible liquids at high temperatures.

Excellent for Those with Basic Knowledge of Calculus-Based General Chemistry

Arrived on time, and in perfect condition. A useful guide and read for those learning chemical thermodynamics. The book offers slow detailed explanations of concepts, and the included CD provides useful practice problems. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find an official answer key, although some problems on the CD are the same as the problems in the book. Basic knowledge and understanding of differentiation and integration are necessary to understand the mathematical derivations. Little knowledge of quantum chemistry is necessary to understand this book: the book covers classical thermodynamics.
