Great for the Forensic Counselor

This is a great book for those involved in counseling the criminal justice client. This book is not only for mental health counselors, and social workers but those who's role includes monitoring or supervising criminal justice clients, such as parole/probation officers, corrections staff, or educators. The information is extremely timely and accurate, and done in a way that does not marginalize or stigmatize this client. The book discusses specific disorders common within offenders and how one can reduce some of the difficulty while working with them. The author randomly includes "advice" on what to say in some difficult situations which isn't his main goal of the book, but is very beneficial.

Poorly written, poorly edited and shaky support at best.

Absolutely terrible book. Tate publishing should be embarassed that this book is in print. It is absolutely riddled with spelling and grammatical errors and a completely indecipherable citation style. Clearly the author (nor the copy editor) does not know how to use ANY citation style. Although, I guess the author figured that since they were writing from their own subjective point of view and using anecdotes as evidence, they didn't think they would have to actually back up their claims with scientific evidence. Deisler clearly feels that our criminal justice system is absolutelty teeming with psychopaths, sociopaths and sexual offenders to the point that substance abuse and Axis 1 disorders barely get a passing mention. If you want ONE person's clearly subjective experiences of treating criminal justice clients, then perhaps, maybe, buy this book. If you want something with more general applicability or something supported by scientific research, go elsewhere.

Perfect book if you work with criminal justice clients!

This book is excellent for anyone or any agency working with criminal justice clients. It walks you through the assessment process, treatment planning, clinical issues with cj clients, group therapy, and developing a relapse prevention plan. This book also has a great section of the characteristics of recovering offenders. Excellent appendix with forms to use including informed consent. This book is a must-read for anyone working with offenders!

This book is excellent and I fully recommend it to any manager who's interested in improving themselves and their people. It covers fundamental concepts that every manager needs to be good at--building relationships with staff, providing feedback, coaching, and delegation.

Took me years to get this information, now you can have it in a book!

There is no better management training than Manager-Tools! Believe me, I've looked...I've used their trinity as well as their hiring recommendations at both my ambulance service and in the hospital with great results. The information in the book is actionable and will tell you not only what to do but how to do it. About the Author
Nancy R. Gallo, J.D. is a frequent presenter at the American Association for Paralegal Education national and regional conferences and was a member of AAfPE's Family Law Syllabus Task Force (2003). Professor Gallo is the author of the textbook, Introduction to Family Law (2004). A member of the American Bar Association Family Law Section and the New Jersey Bar Elder Law Section, the author is a frequent public speaker and has volunteered as an Early Settlement Panel member for the Sussex County Superior Court, Newton, New Jersey. A cum laude graduate of William Paterson University, the author attended Nova Southeastern University and was a recipient of a National Endowment for the Humanities funded grant for the study Paul Robeson, 20th Century Humanist and Lawyer. The author is a full professor and the Legal Studies Programs coordinator at Sussex County Community College, Newton, New Jersey.

Ideal for caregiver for elder person

I work as a paralegal in a law firm. Majority of our clients are children of the elderly who need Conservatorship over their aging parents.
The book offered some very insightful tips and reassurance to mostly overwhelmed individuals. I would recommend it anyone who just started the noble task of carrying for their aging parent or to the skilled caregiver, who might find some new approach to troublesome task.

Wonderful to have all these facts and resources in one place

Binhi, a scientist using scientific analysis, has created the book that many people interested in mind control or electromagnetic influencing have been waiting for. This means both the scientific and the victim communities.

There really isn't a book like it. It's the (currently) definitive account of what, broadly, has been going on in what is often called "mind control". The amazing American woman who has in the past been most involved in getting science-grade resources like this out to the public is Cheryl Welsh, and her associated website [...] has excellent supplementary analyses.

For more than half a century, political groups have been using electronic and psychological control of individuals and families to advance their agendas. Partly in defence against it, governments have been experimenting. The results have often been stolen from the taxpayer and turned "black" so fast that the taxpayer who paid for it really never received the benefit. In some cases, he found it being used against him, and his own family.

Binhi's book gives the science-based history, lists journal articles (good bibliography), and collects together other resources. He stands aside from the experiences of actual victims, not quite making the controversial judgement that "yes, these things are indeed happening", but he does them, too, a big service.

The book is capable of misuse. It could be sought out as a way to help exploiters and manipulators (think every shady intelligence or covert action operation in the world, including many that don't follow national boundaries). But that's science for you. That's how knowledge works. And criminal types are already out there using it. Untold damage is resulting to our society.

The thousands of people who are victims of mind control, electronic harassment, or deliberate electromagnetic influencing, will I think (if their functioning is not too damaged to read for long periods) find this a wonderful help. Even if they are too disabled by the (usually) daily torture to read large chunks of it, it's a book for reference.

Neverthless Binhi, standing aside, doesn't come out and say, "Yes, I agree with the victims". He gathers up massively useful facts and bits of history, but he stays aloof.

Faults? He ignores synergistic effects. I guess they are too difficult, because in science they are commonly ignored. He tends to expect victims to offer a correct account of who is doing it and how they are doing it (unreasonable). (It's unfair to ask the victim of an invisible crime to describe the perpetrator and say how it is being done. Obviously, distressed and disabled, victims will make some mistakes.)

But this is a jewel of a book for its summation of useful facts. If you can afford it, grab it.

About the Author
Huey Newton was co-founder and leader of the Black Panther Party, and its chief theoretician. In 1967 Newton was arrested and charged with killing an Oakland police officer during a dispute, leading to a much-publicized "Free Huey" campaign. In 1980, Newton earned a doctorate in philosophy from the University of California. He died in 1989. Toni Morrison is a Nobel-prize winning American author, editor and professor. Among the best known of her novels are The Bluest Eye, Song of Solomon, and Beloved, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1988. Elaine Brown became, in 1974, the first and only woman to lead the Black Panther Party. Today, as an activist, writer and popular lecturer, she promotes the vision of an inclusive and egalitarian society, focusing on resolving problems of race, gender oppression and class disparity in the United States.
